RI Group hosts the new Italian headquarters of the Modular Building Institute

On 18 and 19 June 2026, the new operational headquarters of MBI Italia, the first national chapter of the Modular Building Institute, was inaugurated at the RI Group headquarters in Trepuzzi. The opening represents an important milestone in the development of the Italian network dedicated to modular and offsite construction.

MBI Italia was established with the aim of creating a structured network among Italian companies in the sector, encouraging the sharing of expertise, promoting innovation and strengthening dialogue with institutions, universities and economic stakeholders. The Italian chapter is the first national chapter officially recognised by the Modular Building Institute and directly connects the Italian industry with an international network of companies operating across numerous countries.

A new reference point for modular construction in Italy

The new Trepuzzi headquarters, hosted within RI Group’s premises, strengthens the presence of the network in Italy and consolidates a path that began with the establishment of MBI Italia in 2025.

The inauguration brought together chapter members, institutions and stakeholders, providing an opportunity to discuss shared activities and future prospects for the modular construction sector.

The opening also has an international significance: Trepuzzi becomes an important European hub for MBI, reinforcing the role of Puglia and Salento within an increasingly global modular construction industry.

RI Group among the founding members of MBI Italia

RI Group is one of the founding members of MBI Italia, together with Piva Group, Pan Urania, Green Prefab and Emme alla Enne.

The company’s involvement in the initiative reflects its commitment to promoting an industrial culture of modular construction based on innovation, collaboration and international development.

From its headquarters in Trepuzzi, RI Group designs and manufactures prefabricated modular structures for a wide range of operational applications, supported by consolidated international experience. Hosting the Italian MBI office therefore represents a natural continuation of a path built over the years through industrial expertise, research and cooperation with national and international partners.

Building a network to support the growth of the sector

MBI Italia was created to provide a platform for coordination, research and representation capable of supporting the development of modular construction in Italy.

Its objectives include promoting innovative and sustainable technologies, professional training, the exchange of international best practices and cooperation among companies operating throughout the sector.

The inauguration of the headquarters at RI Group therefore represents more than the opening of a new operational space. It marks another step towards strengthening a community of companies and professionals committed to contributing to the evolution of industrialised and modular construction in Italy.
